Wild Animal Allergies: American Bison

Dr. Seals assisted the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch veterinary team located in Murchison, TX.

This facility is a world-renowned animal sanctuary for domestic and exotic animals. They have an American Bison with a history of seasonal itch/pruritus progressing over the past few years. The bison has rubbed several patches of hair out and has traumatized his skin.

The bison was allergy tested (see photo below) and several environmental allergens were identified. He has started immunotherapy to help decrease his symptoms.
