Telemedicine Comes to ADRC!

Coronavirus animal allergy veterinary

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) has recommended cutting down on potential exposure to clients and staff by delaying any wellness exams or elective procedures. They’ve also recommended implementing telemedicine, which means practicing veterinary medicine from afar, either through telephone or video chat.

We’re very excited to announce that Dr. Gimmler has implemented a telemedicine service for ADRC. Existing clients can schedule a recheck for their pet through video conference in the comfort of their own homes! Just download the free app Google Hangouts to any smart phone. Dr. Gimmler will be able to talk to you, examine your pet, and walk you through taking skin or ear samples if necessary as long as you’ve got some clear tape or q-tips. You can drop off the samples outside our clinic or mail them in, and Dr. Gimmler will review the samples just like at a traditional appointment. We’ll mail medications to you afterward.

We think this will be a great option for anyone who wants to practice social distancing, people who live far away or don’t have time to drive to the clinic, and for pets that get nervous with car rides or vet visits. Call the clinic if you’d like to take advantage of this exciting new service!
